Gwang-suk Kim

Why do all great musicians die so early?
While Korean pop music or '대중가요' has lost its sense of direction, it is musicians like him that we desperately need. Focusing on the notes, lyrics, instrument, voice and message...he is capable of doing one thing that musicians from our generation do not seem to be doing: Inspire.

Gilmore Girls Sound Track

To be honest, I am not a Gilmore Girls fan.
but the sound track contains only the best and nothing but the best.
from PJ Harvey, Yoko Ono, The Free Design, to Bjork, XTS, Koop and the list goes on and on.
Definitely worth trying!

Once (2003)

Since I was a child, I believed in destiny, romanticism and peace. As I grew older, these values were often replaced by other priorities in my life-more practical and materialistic values. It took me a while to realize that the true essence of life does not just evolve around the concept of success and acknowledgement.

Life is so much more than what it seems. Open your eyes, ears and mind- and you will see the beauty of it.

The whitest guy tearing it apart on the dance floor.
I have seen many versions of "Teach me how to jerk," but this is hands down the best.
Plus, his colab work with Ian should be added to your list of creative choreography.

Vonlenska

"A non-literal language, without fixed syntax, and differs from constructed languages that can be used for communication. It focuses entirely on the sounds of language; lacking grammar, meaning, and even distinct words. Instead, it consists of emotive non-lexical vocables and phonemes; in effect, Vonlenska uses the melodic and rhythmic elements of singing without the conceptual content of language."

Charlotte Gainsbourg

It was a pleasant surprise to discover her in the film 'Félix et Lola.'
Since then, she has become one of my all time favorite actresses.
I don't know why, but there is this refreshing quality about singer song writers that is simply irresistable.
Maybe it is their aura- the compelling eyes- or the lyrics.
But in her case, it was definitely the cigarette that did the trick.

Kraak & Smaak

What first started out as a journey through the scandinavian electro pop music scene, I have been recently exposed to scandinavian (in particular swedish) indie music. Before I fully drench myself into the wonderful world of indie music, I would like to share some music by a fantastic trio from holland. If you are a dancer, you probably heard their music one way or another. It is their "crunchy" and "tasty" music that keeps your head bobbing.

Kraftwerk

The german word [Kraftwerk] means [Power plant].
the source or in other words, the foundation.
They are the electro pioneers, living legends and globally revered masters of electronic sound.
(whisper) some people think they might be actually greater than the beatles. shhhh.
It was 40 years ago, when they forsaw the kind of sensation electro music is going to introduce to the world.
Talk about being 'waaaay ahead.'

Towa Tei

The fusion between music and art, directly reflected in his music videos, should explain why he deserves so much attention. Everytime I run into a wall with an ambiguous set of agenda, he seems to come up with an even more ambigious response, which ironically but actually seems to be the answer.

Towa is out of this league.
