Enjoyed every bit of it.

The upbeat tempo combined with the occasional clapping and singing was enough to bring out the Latin flavor. The whole time I felt a rush of excitement. A stimulating and vigorous stage that pleased both my eyes and ears. From the sexy hip movements to the arched backs, I think I just fell in love all over again.

Didn't plan it that way but it ended up becoming a commemorative party of Pac.
It felt amazing to groove to some OG hip hop tracks.
I should definately let my inner DIVA prevail on a more regular basis. lol.

Whereas the original version of "Pac's Life" resonates more with me, the remix version brings the heat. I always thought there was no point to fuss about the supremacy of the original track over the remix version. Can't we all just embrace both of them(as long as they are good music)?

이소라의 노래를 듣고 있으면 조그만 숨소리- 표정 하나하나까지 놓치고 싶지 않아 하는 내 자신을 발견하게된다. 잊고 있었던, 가슴 깊숙히 덮어두었던 애틋한 추억을 살포시 꺼내주는 느낌이랄까. 가끔씩, 유투브에 떠돌아 다니는 (음질 최악의) '제발' 라이브 영상을 보곤한다. 우울한데 울고 싶을 때 더더욱 찾게 되는 노래다.  제발, 바람이 분다, No.1, 사랑이야...이 노래들을 가만히 들어보면 그녀의 과거속으로 잠시 들어갔다 나오는 느낌이다. 특히, '제발'은 그녀가 가장 힘든 이별을 겪고 작사작곡한 곡이어서 듣고 있노라면 그 때 그 상처와 아픔, 그리움, 회의 등 파도처럼 밀려오는 복합적인 감정들을 느낄 수 있다.

그녀는 어쩌면 매 노래를 부를 때마다 그 때의 감정에 충실하려고 하는지 모른다. 아픔을 안겨준 그 사람을 생각하며, 그 때 느꼈던 감정을 떠올리며, 그 시절을 회상하면서 마음속으로 울고 있을지도 모른다. 그리고 음악을 통해 이러한 감정을 공유하며 청취자들과 소통하는 것이다. 연령층과 상관없이 누구나 한 번쯤은 공감할 수 있는 이야기이기에. 그런 그녀가 나는 참 고마우면서 안쓰럽다. 그녀는 아마 일상생활에서도 늘 한구석에 슬픔과 외로움을 안고 살아갈 것 같다. 매 공연마다 아픈과거를 되새기며 노래를 부르다보면 현재보다는 과거에 익숙한 그녀가 아닐까하는 생각이 들었다. 그래서 과거에, 추억에, 아는 사람에, 본인 물건에 더욱 집착하는 것일 수도 있고.

나는 이소라의 섬세하면서 감수성 풍부한 마음이 (감히) 이해가 되어서 오히려 그녀를 부정적인 시각으로 바라보는 사람들이 이상해보였다. 왜 그녀의 본심을 이해못하냐면서. 나는 가수다 초반에 보여줬던 그녀의 우유부단한 사고와 감정을 억제하지 못하는 아마추어 같은 모습은 단지, 호소력이 짙은, 가슴이 찢어지면서도 평온한 감동을 선사하는 이소라라는 사람의 이면의 모습이 극대화되어 나타난것 같다. 동전에도 양면이 있듯이, 아무리 좋은 장점이 있더라도 그림자처럼 따라오는 단점이 있기 마련이다. 최고의 무대를 선사하는 대신 그녀는 외로운 길을 걷고 있다. 이제는 우리도 청취자로써 마음의 여유를 갖고 그녀의 음악을 즐겨야 할 시기가 아닐까 생각해본다.

현실에 대한 좌절감이 몰아쳐 온 어느 날

내가 가진 것을 친구와 나눠야 한다는 것, 남의 것에 손대지 않는 것, 잘못했을 때 사과하는 것, 늘 배우고 생각하는 것, 식사 전에 손을 씻는 것, 언제나 정정당당하게 행동하는 것. 이것은 작가 로버트 풀검이 "내가 알아야 할 모든 것은 유치원에서 배웠다"에서 전한 내용이다.

우리는 세상에 살아남기 위해, 성공하기 위해 알아야 할 것들이 끝없이 많다고 생각하고 항상 허기져있다. 하지만 정말 알아야 할 것들은 모두 유치원에서 이미 배웠다는 것이다. 설사 그곳이 유치원이 아니라 초등학교든 할머니 품 안에서든 이 '위대한 상식'은 우리의 유년 시절에 입력된 것이 분명하다.

그러나 이런 상식을 누구나 동일하게 배웠는데 왜 성인이 되어서는 사람마다 현격한 차이를 내는 걸까? 요즘 갖가지 사태를 보며 문득 궁금해졌다. 생각해 보니 이것은 아는 것이 중요한 것이 아니라, 실행의 여부가 차이를 맞드는 것이었다. 그렇다면 어린 시절 귀에 못이 박히도록 들은 이 '위대한 상식'을 누구는 실행하는 착한 어른이 되고, 어떤 이들은 비상식의 부도덕한 사람이 되는 걸까?

이유는 자아 존중감, 즉 자존감의 차이 때문인것이다. 자존감이랑 '자기 가치에 대한 자신감'을 말한다. 따라서 자존감이 높은 사람일수록 도덕지수가 올라간다. 즉 도덕성 높은 바른 생활인이 된다는 것이다. 또한 그들은 실패와 좌절 속에서도 스스로 일어설 힘을 갖게 되고 세상의 잔혹한 시험 속에 빠지지 않게 되는 것이다. 배우 것을 실행하는 것과 자존감은 서로 비례하며 성장하는 것이기 때문에 성장할수록 더욱 견고해진다.
